The role of power amplifier

2021-05-07
In terms of main purposes, power amplifiers can be divided into two categories, namely professional power amplifiers and home power amplifiers.
Power amplifiers used in stadiums, movie theaters, song and dance halls, conference halls or other public places, as well as recording monitoring and other places, generally have some unique requirements in their technical parameters, such power amplifiers are usually called professional Power amplifier.
And used for home hi-fi music appreciation, AV system playback, and karaoke entertainment power amplifier, usually we call it home power amplifier.
The main function of the pre-amplifier is to perform necessary processing and voltage amplification on the program signal transmitted from the signal source, and then output to the post-amplifier. It is like a railway fork, controlling which channel of the audio signal is connected to the power amplifier, and which channel of the audio signal is disconnected from the power amplifier.
The post-stage power amplifier is the part that performs pure power amplification. Its function is to amplify as much as possible, and to amplify the signal from the previous stage. Our requirement for the latter stage is that the amplification factor should be as high as possible, and the distortion of the amplified signal should be as low as possible. In addition to the amplifier circuit, various protection circuits are also designed, such as short-circuit protection, over-voltage protection, over-heat protection, over-current protection, etc.
These two types of power amplifiers are generally only used in high-end machines.
The combined amplifier combines the pre-amplifier and the post-amplifier into one power amplifier, which has the functions of the former two. Generally speaking, the amplifiers are all combined and have a wide range of applications. Generally speaking, the power of the combined power amplifier is smaller than that of the front and rear power amplifiers, and the playback effect is also worse than that of the front and rear power amplifiers. However, the combined power amplifier is cheaper and easy to use, which can fully meet the needs of general households.
